How can we make programming computers far more accessible for non-programmers?
I have been a programmer now since 1982 and in those 37 years I have seen computing power grow exponentially however peoples access to programmable tools and the power therein hasn’t matched this. Programming languages seem to introduce more bells and whistles that make the barrier to entry more rather than less significant. We are still programming in a way that caters to certain types of individuals and skillsets. Even with the onset of machine learning we still don’t see this changing just yet.

People in general seem pretty negative or dismissive of this concept but I feel convinced that there are multiple venues that can be explored to make this question more tangible and lead towards what will in retrospect seem like more obvious solutions. I will in upcoming posts be exploring these concepts that explore different ways and kinds of thinking and asking for a result as well as different tools and mediums to support this.
